Our team is comprised of designers and engineers who are very flexible, highly creative & innovative, significantly practical, and tremendously client focused.
We strive to integrate research and design with engineering and branding to ensure that our products connect with the user, both emotionally and physically.
Our Founders
MY WORK: Dean's role at Pollen is to provide strategic and creative direction for many of our high profile clients and projects.
ABOUT ME: Before founding Pollen Design in 1997, Dean was a designer at Smart Design Inc involved in all aspects of industrial design for the mass consumer market. He has also worked at Henry Dreyfuss Associates, NYC, and Tram Industrial Design, in France, working on numerous projects as diverse as; aircraft interiors, color specifications, cameras, to ski and sports equipment. Originally from England, he was employed at IBM as a product development engineer for new technology products.
He has been a guest speaker at IDSA conferences talking on subjects as diverse as product material selection to the dynamics of teamwork and lateral thinking. He received an HNC in Mechanical and Production Engineering from Basingstoke College and a First Class Honors degree in Industrial Design from the University of Northumbria at Newcastle.

MY WORK: Ed’s goal is to shape a piece of plastic, metal or other raw material into an object that people would pay a premium for. He also inspires the Pollen team to do the same.
ABOUT ME: Ed has 15 years experience in the consulting business-
designing
housewares, consumer electronics, sports gear, and many other categories.
Before co-founding Pollen Design in 1997, Ed designed/freelanced for Smart
Design, NIKE, Ancona2, Gad Shaanan (Montreal), Teague (NY), Group4 (CT),
Fisher-Price, Degrippes (Cato) Gobe, designing over 100 products and
packages in all capacities as well as project management for clients such
as: Reebok, Ekco Housewares, Fiskars, Gulfstream, and Unilever. These
efforts has awarded Ed over 30 issued patents. several IDEA awards and GOOD
Design Awards, including MOMA (Museum of Modern Art) Ed has traveled to Asia over 25 times, developing deep ties with many Asian
Manufacturers. He graduated with honors from Carnegie Mellon University with
a BFA in Industrial Design.
